Sunflower Bean by Sam Leung / Sick Snaps

New York’s Sunflower Bean played a night at the Crocodile in Seattle. The band’s live sound presented a much heavier and gritty sound than presented off their latest recording, Twentytwo in Blue. Their stage presence energized the crowd with bassist Julia Cumming’s call and response lyrics and guitarist Nick Kivlen’s 70’s tinged glam rock riffs. Their tour mates, the Paranoyds were just as fun, with bouncy raucous punk riffs and snarky lyrics.
