Last Friday was an astonishingly great day for new music. Nearly every release was a must-listen, and so many of them surpassed listeners’ expectations. The new Wonder Years, Kississippi, and Hop Along records should definitely be on your radar if they aren’t already. For now, you can read about the debut album from The Aces!

The Aces – When My Heart Felt Volcanic

There hasn’t been too many 2018 releases that have hooked me in from my first listen, but I’ve had The Aces’ debut album, When My Heart Felt Volcanic, on constant rotation since it was recommended to me on Friday. I. Love. Pop. I really can never get enough of catchy, dance-inducing music, and The Aces provide just that. This album is 47 minutes of summer road trip singalongs or rainy day escapes for those dance parties alone in your room, and all 13 tracks fly by quickly. These melodies and repetitive lyrics are meant to stick with you, and you’ll undoubtedly find yourself singing along throughout your first listen, and be hitting repeat before you know it. I didn’t know much about The Aces before I heard this album, but now they’ve got my full attention. –Cassie Wilson

Recommended Track: “Stuck”
