Toronto’s indie-pop band, Alvvays, is coming through on a two night sold-out excursion in Portland at the Doug Fir Lounge. The band is currently midway through a fall tour with Jay Som on the latter half of the dates.

Alvvays is touring off their new record Antisocialites, released on Polyvinyl in September. The record was highly anticipated after their well-received self-titled record that came out in summer ’14. Antisocialities received grand reviews after its long-awaited release and the overall consensus of the shows so far on this tour has been exciting as well.

Recommended Alvvays Tracks: “Dreams Tonight” or “Party Police”

Melina Duterte, also known as Jay Som, is the supporting artist for Alvvays on this half of the tour. Oakland born, singer-songwriter, who is also on Polyvinyl, released a record earlier this year in the spring called Everybody Works. Influenced by her hometown, the record solidified Duterte as a skillful songwriter who has a bright future ahead.

Recommended Jay Som Tracks: “The Bus Song” or “Baybee”

The tour is showing off two of Polyvinyl’s most talked about artists and releases of the year. The tour stops in Portland on October 26th and 27th at the Doug Fir Lounge. Check out dates below or at alvvays.com/tour!
