Eisley is currently on a full US tour with Civilian and Backwards Dancer, and they’re set to hit the West Coast later this month. All three of these indie bands have recently put out records that make for this to be a stacked lineup.

Backwards Dancer

Indie-rock band Backwards Dancer just released their self-titled debut full-length on Equal Vision Records, and it is attention grabbing right from the start. Zack Shaw’s lead vocals add a sense of warmth and familiarity to their sound to make these songs unmistakably recognizable as being from this band. Recognize his voice? Shaw was formerly a vocalist of The Hotelier. The ten tracks on this record show the band’s experience and make for a strong debut.

Had I heard Civilian’s 2016 release, You Wouldn’t Believe What Privilege Costs, sooner, it easily would’ve made it into my list of top 20 records of 2016. It may have a long running time, but the vocals never stop soaring, and the guitars and percussion are constantly keeping each song alive. Every song on this album will make you want to move, so their live performance is sure to be fun for both current fans and first time listeners.

Headlining the tour named after their new album, I’m Only Dreaming, is indie-pop band Eisley. Also on Equal Vision, this band’s music is sure to make you feel like you’re in a dream. Sherri Dupree’s sweet, euphonious voice makes Eisley’s music addicting. Dupree’s vocals lead the way in most songs which give their sound the pop feeling. I’m Only Dreaming can be both the perfect rainy day pick-me-up, or the soundtrack to your next road trip. It’s full of life without being overwhelming. I’m looking forward to how transcendent Eisley’s set will undoubtedly be.
